For Exam III   F-06

 NOTE:  this is a take-home exam : it will be distributed on 11/9 and due one week later

EXTRA CREDIT: Due any time prior to handing out the exam for credit -

1 point for each group of 3 multiple choice questions

Topics for Exam 3 Fall 2006:

  1. & 2.  history of the identification of DNA as the hereditary material; semi-conservative model of replication; techniques, methodologies, experimental appproaches involved
  2.  ----
  3. structure of nucleic acids & their components
  4. mechanism of replication
  5. one gene - one polypeptide; transcription basics, protein structure (primary, secondary, etc.); structure of the ribosome

 so - three m.c. questions for each of these topics ==> max of 5 extra credit points

You may work on these assignments in your study groups, but each student is responsible, individually, for completing each assignment.  If they are handed in jointly, all names MUST appear on the assignment, and there MUST be a commensurate multiple of the assigned questions ( e.g. if two people work together => 6 "interesting points" or 6 multiple choice questions per chapter/topic).
